Hay bale jumping and pumpkins

We had a busy weekend and now we are gearing up for the new work week (and new job #2 - Steve's).  On Friday we made it out with our old CBIZ coworkers to have dinner and margaritas at Aqui.  Saturday was our typical swimming morning.  Cason is doing amazingly well and it is now officially a lot of fun to go with him swimming.  As I recap it so I will remember when we go down this path with Rory; lesson 1 was to be expected - hesitant and crying, lesson 2 was smiles and jumps, lesson 3 was the first head under water = explosion of tears and tantrums, which then meant lessons 4-8 were pretty awful.  Though Mommy was determined, and no matter how much misery we went through together (included every excuse under the sun to not go, fake potty runs, screaming "I wanna go home" over and over, even pinching twice!!!) we made it to happy swim lessons.  I think my suborn determination and a little help from my friend Dora as a reward finally got us there.  Our swim teacher Terrance is amazed at how different Cason is from yesterday to a month earlier.  Today Cason sang all the songs, went under the water about 30 times without a whimper even smiling, swam to and from a platform, can climb out of the pool by himself, wore fins for the first time, and even dove for rings on the platform getting 3 on the first try.  Yay Cason!

Today we made it out to the pumpkin patch.  Unfortunately it was roasting out there with a stale 90+ degrees which made you feel like you were baking.  It rivaled to a warm Arizona early fall day.  Though the boys (we went with our friends the Hodges) had a great time.  The highlight was the train of course and jumping in the hay.  Cason wants to go back again to jump some more.

  1. Wow -- great pictures! Color is great -- did you get a new camera? Cason looks like he is having a great time! Rory is cute as ever -- always happy! Great job on swimming -- glad you kept him going -- so much easier when they are pool safe! Love, Aunt Nancy
