Approaching 1 years old

The best saying i just read the other day about raising kids (especially during the baby/toddler years)…  "The days are long, but the years are quick"  So true.  I can't believe Rory is almost 1 and Cason is acting like a true little boy now and well out of his toddler years.  We just came out of a hard week with zero sleep for about 4 days.  Rory got her first ear infection - double ear infection to boot.  So we have been saddled with a cranky one year old who won't sleep,  plus Cason was sick at the same time but only received a deep cough.  Lesson learned… don't let Rory drink from Cason's sippy cup, no matter how much she whines for it.

Well I think we are out of the woods now and have been getting more sleep.  Rory is on antibiotics starting Friday and she is happy again.  Cason's cough has went away and he is his hyper self again.  We have received much needed rain the past week so the kids have been inside a bit more than usual, we took a quick trip to the playground across the street on Saturday and met a couple who had a 2.5 year old and 3 month old.  In talking with them, they asked, "Please tell us it gets easier?" after asking the ages of Cason and Rory.  Steve and I took a deep pause, "well, I guess a little, but we have had a rough week" was our answer.  They were not reassured.

Lastly, in reading the NY Times last week they coined the new 30's as DINKs (Double Income No Kids) as we all know that one, but have updated the 40's DITT (Double Income Two Toddlers) or (Toddler Twins).  Poor Steve, it could be worse!
