We welcomed Rory on her due date after approximately 17 hours of labor. After a long Tuesday of work around the house, she started around 7:30pm giving me contractions. Around 1am we decided it was time to make our way to the hospital. Since my parents were in town, Cason slept soundly as we slipped out. It was a long night, which included pacing the halls from 2:45am -4:00 to get her moving. Around 8 am I asked for an epidural and the labor continued to move slowly along. Around 11:30 am they decided labor was to slow and wanted to give a small dosage of pitocin. Steve left to go get some lunch as we thought it would still be awhile and I had the tv on watching the announcement of the new Pope. Well 20 mins later I told the nurse I was in a lot of pain and she said "oh you are at 10 centimeters" we need to push. So a quick call to Steve to get back was made and within minutes of his return the doctor arrived and 4 pushes later Rory was born.
Cason came to visit on Thursday and was a little hesitant as his memories of the hospital were not pleasant. He quickly warmed up as Rory brought him presents which made his day. He is getting used to her being around.
