Cason turns 3!

We had a great weekend and thoroughly enjoyed Cason's 3rd birthday weekend.  Cason had a Thomas themed birthday and a jump house in our backyard.  He was very excited and even though the temps were not the warmest everyone seemed to enjoy the jump house.  We had a full house and lots of fun.  I am finally getting around to posting about the weekend.  

The Stough family also decided to crash at my house which made it even more festive.  We had my 93 year old grandmother staying in Cason's room, my parents in the nook and my brother got the couch.  Rory was in her room and Cason was in our room on his blowup bed.  He however snuck into our bed all three nights for a part of the night.  The last night we put him down at 8:30 in his bed at the foot of our bed, when we came to bed around 10:00 we found him smack in the middle of our bed under the covers with all 4 of his lovies. 

On his birthday we had a lot of new toys to play with and managed to make it out to celebrate with a trip to Vasona to ride the train.

9.5 months - Rory

A little belated, but its that time of year.  Rory turned 9 months and then the whirlwind began with Cason's birthday, family visitors, and Christmas.  We went to her 9 month appointment and she is 29 inches tall (90%) and 19lbs 3.5 oz (60%).  She is one inch shorter than Cason and a 1/2 an ounce lighter than him at the same age.

She is officially on the move.  Crawling on all fours quickly, pulling herself up everywhere and cruising along the furniture.  She is also letting go and trying to balance.  She looks like a little surfer when she does that.  So far we haven't had too many spills, but it sure sounds loud when her head hits the hardwood.  She recovers after 30 seconds of tears.

She is already a daddy's girl and also loves Cason.  Either one of them can make her smile by just saying hi to her.  She also has become quite the water baby and loves playing in the bath.  She kicks and splashes the whole time and doesn't care if she gets water in her face.

December!

Oh it just gets busier and busier.

The past few weeks have been busy as usual, but add the holidays and a upcoming birthday and time seems to be short.  We had Gigi visit in the middle of November followed the next weekend with a visit from Boppa.  The kiddos enjoyed seeing their grandparents.  Then onto Thanksgiving which we hosted for the first time ever.  Unfortunately I came down with the flu on late Tuesday night and by Wednesday at noon I was miserable.  The chills and aches were awful and I ran a fever of over 100 for 48 hours.  So Steve got to cook the Thanksgiving dinner all by himself and also help with the kiddos as there were many moments that I was curled up on the couch.  He did a great job (though he won't say so) and we enjoyed Thanksgiving with his family.

Rory is now standing up and starting to move around.  Cason is just being 3!  His favorite new line is "I'm tired" when he doesn't want to do something we have asked him to do.
