8 months old - Rory

We have had a rough month.  Rory cut her first tooth at 7 months and now she has a total of 4! 4 teeth in one month is a lot of restless nights on top of a cold that knocked us out.  Plus she is officially our little vampire.  She has her two bottom center teeth which came in a month ago and her two top canine teeth!  That is going to look quite interesting in a month if she doesn't get her other top teeth soon.  She has graduated to eating lots of stuff now.  She has had bananas, apples, peaches, blueberries, mango, pears, sweet potato, prunes, peas, carrots, winter squash, butternut squash, green beans, etc.  She is a pretty good eater now and squeals at you if you don't go fast enough.  We are going to try protein and some finger foods (puffs) this week since we have some teeth and it is time to start.

Rory has started to sleep through the night every 3rd night or so.  She is usually upset with the teething which wakes her.  We are still nursing, but it is coming to an end.  Rory is weaning herself off and is not very consistent on her intake even when it is the same time every morning and night.  I am ready to stop, she is ready to stop, good time to do it.

We are starting to have to break up the kiddos now.  Rory ALWAYS wants what Cason is playing with and is super persistent on getting to it.  Cason gets upset and swipes it away from her yelling, "No Rory!"  This happens a lot so we have to educate Cason not to get so crazy as Rory will be really getting into his toys soon.  Oh, 18 more years of this… wait it never really ends.

Lastly, this morning as I was waiting for Tina to show up, the kids were in the living room and I was filling the dishwasher.  I felt like I was in one of those house remodeling shows as I kept popping my head around the corner since I have "no sight lines" to the living room from the kitchen.  So Rory was on her stomach playing with toys and the next second I look out and she is sitting up!  I had to laugh as I totally missed it.  Darn you 92 year old house with no sight lines.
Here is our little 8 month old.

Colds Suck!

Well we all caught "the cold" this time.  It really knocked all of us out for a day or so.  Cason was sick first which started on Halloween with a fever.  We stayed home with him last Friday to get him well.  Friday night was super tough as Cason was up most of the night with a serious cough.  I ended up sleeping in be with him from 3am -7am.  Then it was Rory's turn.  She woke Saturday morning at 5am with a fever and was unhappy.  Being that she was a baby we ended up taking her to the doctor to rule out ear infections.  She is now 17lbs 8 oz.  So both kids traded off being the "sickest" on Saturday.  Saturday night wasn't as rough as everyone had their tylenol in them as they went to bed.  Then Sunday came around and Steve started to get sick with a sore throat.  By Monday night my throat was sore and Tuesday I was in a complete fog.  Cason decided he would make Mommy better on Tuesday night and gave me a check up with Dr. Cason.  The best part is when he checks your ears with his medical tools… on one side he says "pop, pop" and other is "toot toot" as he looks at them.  LOL.  Now a week has passed and everyone appears to be better for the most part.  Lingering coughs are about it for all.

Little Inchworm

Rory is on the move.  Well she has been on the move for awhile, but now she is on her hands and knees and getting places faster.  She still inches along like a worm, but really wants to be up on her hands and knees.  I think she will get there by next week.
