We had a great Friday outing at the park.  They kids played in the water and took a walk down by the lake.  Such a good summer coming to an end, hope to do it again someday (however under different circumstances).

Last hurrah to summer (and unemployment)

Well I am starting a new job on Monday after being off for the entire summer.  Well actually being off from work since Rory was born 5.5 months ago.  So we had to hit up the beach today.  Hard to believe, but it was my first Nor. Cal. beach visit since I lived here.  We went down to Santa Cruz for the day and played in the sand and water.  It was a beautiful day, 75 degrees and sunny!  Reminded me of when I was little and spent many days at Seal Beach with the Crocketts.  Here are some pictures of the two kiddos.

5 months - Rory

Well we are out of infant stage and well into the baby stage.  Rory can roll over and now likes to hang out on her tummy.  She loves toys now and pretty much has something in her grasp at all times.  Her daytime routine is becoming more consistent and naps pretty well.  She still eats ever 2.5 hours which tough on mom as you can't go too far with that eating schedule.  She is finally taking the bottle, however pretty reluctantly.  She needs to be pushed to 2.75 hours to take it, but then downs it in under 5 minutes.

Nights are still a challenge as she still wakes to eat.   We have started sleep training her but it is a loud and tiring process.  She is in her crib and bedroom now which helps.  We moved Cason into his new room which was an easy transition.  We had to put a baby monitor in his room at night as he is so far away we can't hear him at all.  It has a walkie-talkie function to it which works great in the mornings.  He gets a kick out of me saying good morning to him when I hear him get up.
