Start of busy season

Momma started her busy season with the City audits, so the week was busy and Daddy had to take over kiddo duty, so not too many pictures this week.  Here are a few of the everyday antics.

Teething much?

We had a rough week of teething as the top two teeth are making their way down.  One broke through on Wednesday, but the other is still causing some angst.  Cason is chewing on everything as displayed below.  I was talking on the phone with the computer in my lap and he crawled over and started gnawing on the computer.

Fall festival

A few pictures of our baby friends at a park play date in Los Gatos.  I discovered today that Cason is by far the most active and wiggly baby.  All the other babies were interested in playing with their toys, sat in one spot, and were overall mellow.  Not Cason.  I was exhausted by the end of our playdate with keeping him from stealing toys, food, crawling over littler babies, using other babies to stand up, and entertaining him so he would stay on the blankets.

Open, close

In the weekday mornings, Cason plays in the sink area of the bathroom as I get ready for work.  He enjoys his toys, my shoes and crawling into the closet.  This past week he had a new discovery.  The cabinets!  Uh-oh, right now he just enjoys opening and closing them, but soon I think he will try to pull everything out.  Looks like a trip to the baby store to get some locks.

Nine month doctor appointment

String bean!  This is how Cason measures up.  We went to his 9 month check up and he is doing great, however he is becoming lean and mean.  His measurements were 30 inches tall (95 percentile) 19lbs 4 ounces (30 percentile) and 18 inches for his head (75%).  So he stayed about the same for height and head, but dropped significantly on the weight.

This is not surprising given that he grew another 2.25 inches and is a wiggle monster, never taking a break.  So our new task is to plump this guy up, or at least maintain his weight.  So that means he gets the good stuff now.  More protein and fats in every meal now, which make for a challenge on the cooking front.

Overall he is doing great, past expectations on moving around (crawling, standing, cruising on furniture), now we just need him to utter some new sounds... so we are saying mama mama mama and dada dada dada to him now.  He just looks at me weird when I prattle on.

Nine months old

Cason,

Well after a long day (for the both of us), I am writing to you.  You are having a rough day, but a great month.  You were so tired today, that you went down an hour early (which you never do).  Hopefully you stay asleep for the night.  This month we have added protein to your diet and for the most part it hasn't fazed you.  I think most of the jar stuff smells awful, but you eat it up.

You have learned to stand up and cruise along the couch easily now.  Walking is just around the corner.  Two teeth popped through and two more are on their way.  This has given us a few wake up calls during the night, but you can tell it is hurting you, so we feel pretty bad for you.

We are back at Jayden's house this month and it is so exciting playing with his toys.  Unfortunately I think you are torturing him a little by following him around wanting all of the toys he is playing with.  You are learning new things everyday it is hard to keep up with you.

love you,
mommy and daddy

First tailgate and UCLA football game

We traveled down to So. Cal for the first UCLA football game and Uncle Ryan's birthday.  Cason received a UCLA shirt from Uncle Ryan so that he was properly dressed for the occasion.  UCLA won, but it wasn't pretty.

Double whammy: 1st cold and 2 teeth

We have had a rough week with a few changes.  Cason got his first tooth about 10 days ago and then his second tooth popped through on Saturday.  The first tooth was easy the second tooth was a little more trouble which required a little Tylenol on Friday night.

Then Saturday we noticed he was stuffed up and realized he got his first cold.  That made for a rough night with him waking up a few times.  We finally resorted to the carseat which helped him breathe easier.  I was an unfortunate casualty as well and got sick Sunday afternoon, so both of us were not doing so well yesterday.  He seems to be better this morning and so am I.  Good thing this was a quick cold.
