Park playdate

Back in November/December I had a childbirth class and a few of the new mommies have been going to lunch when we were off on maternity leave.  Well now we are all back at work and decided to get together for a lunch playdate on the weekend since the weather was nice.  We had been going to some local restaurants, but decided that they were getting a little wiggly and we also wanted to enjoy the nice day so we had our first park excursion.  We finally brought the cameras and here are a few pictures of just the babies.  We have 3 boys and one girl today.

From left to right with birth dates... Cason (12/15), Nicholas (12/22), Riley (12/20) and Charlie (1/15)

4.5 month doctor visit

Due to some scheduling problems, Cason didn't get to go to his 4 month doctor appointment until today which basically puts him at 41/2 months.  It has been a big mystery to us on how much he has grown and we have been kept guessing and have some bets going...

With a starting weight at 2 months of 12 lbs 2 oz, dessert is on the line here with the following wagers.
16 lbs 8 oz - Papa
16 lbs 13 oz - Tricia
17 lbs 2 oz - Steve
18 lbs 2 oz - Grammie  GG  (what does she think we feed this kid?)

And the winner is...

NONE OF US!!!  (I claim if you aren't within one pound, then you can't claim victory)

My little string bean is only 15lbs and 4oz!  I guess he is about average at 65% for weight.  He is 25 and 3/4 inches at 75% for height.  Overall he gained just over 3lbs and grew 2 inches the past 2.5 months.  Everything was normal and she said he looked great.

Easter Bunny

As promised, I got Cason's first Easter Bunny picture to post.  I don't think he will ever be this happy again in the big bunny's presence.

Weekend pics

Keeping busy at Grammie GG and Papa's house over the weekend, our Saturday events were numerous.  We had some bath time and went to the park with Cason to name a few things.  Here is a few more pictures.

Southern California visit

We had training in our Irvine office this Thursday and Friday, so we made the trip with Cason down to Southern California this week.  Cason had his first plane trip and for the most part it went very well.  We did get the stroller stuck in the x-ray machine, and the flight was delayed an hour which was more stressful for the parents, but Cason did great on the plane.  The plane was 100% full and the window seat next to us was the VERY LAST seat available.  Everyone took one look at us and passed us by.  Luckily he was great on the flight and fell asleep on the decent when we landed.
Cason has had a busy past two days and visited the Easter Bunny on Thursday.  I will have to get the picture scanned in when I return home, but he did great and was a smiling baby.  I don't even think he saw the great white scary looking bunny.

Walk to the park

It was a great afternoon and Cason appeared to be getting restless.  We realize that we are pretty boring compared to his weekday routine of daily park excursions, 2 year olds running around, and two little dogs at the other house.  So we decided to take a walk to the park to get Cason some fresh air and people watching time.

He was very focused

He really did like it...

He was just starving... and about 2 seconds after this picture let us know all about it

Four months old

Cason, you are 4 months old!  Oh my goodness how time flies.  You are getting so big and changing literally every day.  Today I saw you reach up for your toy on your gym mat for the first time.  You are in love with all my necklaces and soon I will have to take them off as you have started to reach and tug on them.
You are doing great with nanny Tina and Jayden (2 years old).  You are fascinated with the 'big boys' and watch Jayden all day long.  Jayden yells "baby Cason!" every time we walk through the door in the morning.  You give Tina big smiles in the morning and sleep very well for her.  Now if we can get out the door in the morning on time.
Your mommy absolutely hates pumping but knows it is good for you so will stick with it 2 more months until you are 6 months old.  She has to do it 5-6 times a day to get enough food for you during the day and then we still nurse at night.  It is exhausting!
You still wake up 2-3 times during the night.  This last month has been rough since you started to wake up more (if that is possible) when I went back to work.  Great timing!  That lasted about 2 weeks - no sleep, no naps, working full-time, makes for a very cranky zombielike mommy.
However, your smiles first thing in the morning are well worth it all.  You usually wake up the happiest baby and I like to play with you for 30 minutes in the morning before we leave... maybe that is why we never get out of the house ontime.
I am excited for the next month as I think you are on the verge of doing a lot of new things.  Happy 4 months my little baby boy!

Three daily activities

So Cason is pretty much focused on three things these days - (no not eating, sleeping, and potty - those are newborn things)... a different three - drooling, rolling, and hands in his mouth.  He is doing one of these at all times during the day.  He falls asleep with usually 2-3 fingers in his mouth.  We think he may be teething a little given all the drool and some irritability sometimes at night.  Lastly he is really getting the hang of the rolling thing.  He goes in spurts and will roll 10 times in 5 minutes, and then won't feel like doing it until two days later, I am sure it will become more frequent.
